The Pensions Team, headed by Charles Suchett-Kaye, is part of
RPC's Employment, Pensions and Incentives Group.
It comprises a number of specialist pension lawyers who provide advice on all aspects of
pensions law, regulation and practice to trustees,
sponsoring employers of pension schemes and
corporates/investors (for mergers and
acquisitions, restructurings and insolvency). In general, our advice relates to large or medium
sized occupational pension schemes (both defined benefit and defined contribution).
Whilst most of our clients retain us to advise on all their pension-related issues, others
instruct us for standalone projects such as scheme mergers, changes to future benefits, pension and
pension-related litigation or the pension aspects of
commercial transactions (often where a client's existing corporate lawyers do not have a UK pension
capability). We also provide ad-hoc, bespoke training workshops and seminars for trustees and
senior management.
We believe in a Partner-led service. Our focus is to build long-lasting relationships with our
clients by becoming an intrinsic and valued part of their team. We work with our clients to find
solutions to problems, help to manage and resolve disputes and provide guidance on industry best
practice. We are accessible, commercial and approachable. We deliver what we promise on time, often
working to tight deadlines to enable our clients to achieve their objectives. Although pensions law
is complex, all our lawyers are trained to provide understandable and practical advice in plain
English.
