UK Bribery Act – on-line training programme

The new UK Bribery Act (UKBA)
The new UKBA became law in April 2010, introducing anti-bribery legislation that is far stricter than legislation in either the EU or the US. This tough new stance makes it more important than ever for companies to be informed about the Act and its far-reaching implications.

On-line training for non-lawyers
RPC has worked with international communications and training company Interactive Dialogues to develop an on-line training programme aimed at addressing this issue.

Written in a non-technical and user-friendly style, the programme provides an explanation of relevant legal principles, real-life examples and practical scenarios. Key summaries of useful tips and test questions reinforce the training, making it more than simply a 'tick box' exercise.

The training covers key issues such as:

  • Consequences of breaches
  • Fines and other penalties
  • Criminal liability
  • Relationship with international bribery legislation
  • Self-reporting
  • Use of agents
  • Adequate procedures

The on-line platform also tracks completion and analyses levels of user-understanding, thereby allowing the organisation to supplement any gaps through supplementary training or advice.

The programme can be tailored to company-specific requirements and installation requires minimal input from your IT resources.
