The register can be accessed via the Financial Services Authority website at http://www.fsa.gov.uk/register/epfSearchForm.do (DPB reference number LS 440566).

We are not authorised under the Financial Services and Markets Act 2000 but we are able, in certain circumstances, to offer a limited range of investment services to clients because we are members of the Law Society, which is a designated professional body for the purposes of the Financial Services and Markets Act 2000. We can provide these investment services if they are an incidental part of the professional services that we have been engaged to provide.

All contracts and disputes are governed by English law.

Complaints

Please see our detailed complaints policy (available on request). Any complaints should be made to the partner identified in your letter of engagement. Alternatively, complaints can be made to our Senior Partner, Robert Hogarth (robert.hogarth@rpc.co.uk) or to Clare Jaycock, our Head of Customer Care (clare.jaycock@rpc.co.uk). If a complaint cannot be resolved satisfactorily you may be entitled to refer it to the Legal Ombudsman.  The Legal Ombudsman service is available to members of the public, very small businesses, charities, clubs and trusts. For more information about eligibility see section 2 of the scheme rules available on the Legal Ombudsman’s website (www.legalombudsman.org.uk). Any referral to the Legal Ombudsman must be made within 6 months of our response to your complaint. Full contact details for the Legal Ombudsman are provided in our complaints policy.

The entitlement to complain extends to a complaint about the firm’s bill. There may be a right to object to the bill by making a complaint to the Legal Ombudsman, or by applying to the court for an assessment of the bill under Part III of the Solicitors Act 1974. The Legal Ombudsman may not deal with a complaint about a bill if you have applied to the court for assessment of that bill.
