RPC appointed by Watford Borough Council for 400,000 sq ft town centre redevelopment
Development due for completion in 2014/15
Reynolds Porter Chamberlain LLP (RPC), the City law firm, has been instructed by Watford Borough Council to advise on the redevelopment of Charter Place, a 400,000 square foot regeneration of the town centre.
The firm will provide advice on all aspects of the regeneration scheme - which will involve an extension of the existing shopping centre at Charter Place.
Martin Barrett, Head of the Real Estate Group and Partner at RPC, comments: "We are delighted to have received this prestigious appointment on Charter Place. We are looking forward to working with the Council and their development partner to make this regeneration project a real success for Watford."
Peter Mitchell, Head of Property at Watford Borough Council, comments: "In a highly competitive bidding field, RPC really impressed us with the depth of expertise within their Real Estate practice which is needed with the many complexities of this development as it adjoins our neighbouring shopping centre, The Harlequin, itself some 760,000 sq ft, operated by Capital Shopping Centres."
"The success of this development will be vital in attracting key retailers to open new stores in Watford as well as boosting business for existing traders in the town. We are very confident that RPC and our other partners in this project will ensure its successful completion, in putting Watford on the map. Watford has a pipeline of development of over £2bn of which this is the initial stage."
