RPC advises on DMGT’s acquisition of Jobrapdio, Europe’s second largest job site

Leading City law firm RPC (Reynolds Porter Chamberlain LLP) has advised A&N Media, the consumer media business of Daily Mail and General Trust plc (DMGT), on its acquisition of Italian jobs website Jobrapido.

Jobrapido is thought to beEurope’s second largest international job search engine, attracting around 32 million visitors from 50 countries per month. In 2011 Jobrapido reported profits in excess of £5m on sales of £20m.

A&N Media will combine Jobrapido with its existing digital recruitment websites, which include Jobsite, Oil Careers and Broadbean in order to form new subsidiary called Evenbase.

RPC says that the acquisition of Jobrapido gives A&N Media a strong global footprint, providingit withaccess to one of the world’s largest databases of job seekers.

RPC’s team, led by Corporate Partner Tim Anderson and Senior Associate Nick Richards, worked on a cross-firm basis on the acquisition with Corporate, Tax, Employment and IP lawyers all advising on the deal.

Tim Anderson says: “DMGT has ambitious plans for its consumer media business, A&N Media, and we’re delighted to be assisting them to grow their portfolio of recruitment websites.This is another significant international transaction that RPC has acted on recently that demonstrates the quality of service RPC provides to its clients.”

The deal follows other recent high profile, cross-border corporate deals, including advising:

  • Specialty insurance business ANV Holdings on a $250m refinancing and $48m acquisition
  • German technology company Dialog Semiconductor on a $201m convertible bond issuance
  • SCA, the global hygiene and paper company, on its £1.1bn acquisition of Georgia-Pacific’s European tissue operation

RPC’s team included Associate Sophie Old (Corporate), Partner Charles Suchett-Kaye and Legal Director Rachel Beaumont (Tax), Senior Associate Chris Braganza (Employment) and Associate Tom Cadwaladr (IP).

The Italian firm Carabba & Partners assisted on Italian aspects of the transaction.
