• RPC beats other firms to the award following work on €1.3bn international deal
• Follows on the heels of similar recognition for RPC’s insurance practice

City law firm RPC (Reynolds Porter Chamberlain LLP) walked away with the midcap Corporate Team of the Year award at this year’s Lawyer Awards at Grosvenor House on Tuesday 26 June.

RPC Managing Partner Jonathan Watmough commented: “RPC has a fantastic corporate law offering for clients and we’re thrilled that this has been acknowledged.  This award recognises both the quality of the legal work we do and the remarkable service we deliver, time and again.”

The recognition came for work by RPC’s Corporate Team for long term Swedish client SCA on a €1.3bn international acquisition of Georgia Pacific’s European tissue operations in 2011.

James Mee, Corporate Partner who led RPC’s team on the SCA deal, says: “It’s great to receive this recognition, which comes after a number of really significant and interesting deals for the team over the last 12 months.”

“Our work for SCA – which spanned 22 different jurisdictions –  was a particular highlight, with international M&A mandates topping the £1bn mark being few and far between in the current market”

The award comes on the heels of RPC winning Legal Business’s Insurance Team of the Year 2012.
