James' practice covers international and UK M&A, both public and private, corporate finance (IPOs and secondary offerings), private equity/venture capital and joint ventures. James acts for a number of fully listed and AIM quoted companies on their corporate activity and listed company compliance matters, as well as an increasing number of management teams and selling shareholders.

Before joining RPC in 2004, James spent nine years at Freshfields, where he advised on a number of high profile M&A transactions, LBOs and IPOs, including the IPO of William Hill. He was seconded to Goldman Sachs where he worked on a number of securities and public M&A transactions, including the IPO of Yell plc.
