Geraldine Elliott

Geraldine leads our Commercial Litigation Group. She has over 20 years of experience advising clients in the financial and professional services, pharmaceutical, industrial and manufacturing sectors, with particular expertise in handling warranty claims, shareholder and joint venture disputes and asset and financial recovery. Geraldine frequently supports businesses in protecting their core interests by obtaining urgent injunctions to prevent team moves and the loss of confidential or other business critical information.

Geraldine has lectured on commercial disputes and is a regular commentator in this arena.

Examples of relevant work

• Acting as lead Partner in a joint venture dispute concerning substantial assets. Aspects of the matter have been to the Court of Appeal
• Obtaining injunction for an industrial company to keep key employees out of the relevant market and enforce non-competition restrictions in their contracts
• Acting for a US supplier of commercial components in a contractual dispute, involving issues of both English and German international law and contractual interpretation, with quantum in the tens of millions (USD)
• Acting for parties in a shareholders' dispute, including successfully challenging an injunction which had restricted those parties' rights to continue in a web-based business they had acquired from administrators
