Here are the answers to some of the questions you may want to ask. We hope it helps you
make a decision. |
Do you recruit applicants who require a work permit? |
|
Yes, however we are unable to help with work permit applications; therefore if you wish to apply for a
training contract you must have secured a valid work permit before we can offer you a position. |
What happens at the recruitment days? |
|
We invite around 12 candidates to each recruitment day, held in September. It's a great chance for you to demonstrate your strengths, and helps us to make an objective selection.
There are a variety of exercises to help us select the best candidates. It's hard work, but fun. It gives you the opportunity to meet some of our partners, lawyers and trainees which helps you to make your own assessment of what training with us would be like. |
Do I have to be a law graduate? |
|
No. Some of our best and most successful trainees have graduated in other subjects. |
Does the firm advise future joiners on where to study the LPC? |
|
We ask all our trainees to study the LPC at BPP, Holborn. |
Do you specify which electives future trainees should study on the LPC? |
|
We would require our future trainees to study at least one commercial litigation focused elective on the LPC. The remaining electives should be made up of commercial-focused electives which
complement our core practice areas. |
What will happen when I arrive to begin my training contract? |
|
The first few weeks of your training contract will be taken up with the core modules of the Professional Skills Course and
our induction programme. The induction is designed to introduce you to
RPC, the partners, the current trainees and the trainee development team. |
Will I go through a period as an 'office junior'? |
|
You may be inexperienced and new to the firm, but you are a valuable resource. We don't want you spending time on menial tasks which won't help you develop your legal skills. |
