Training seats You will spend six months in each of four departments. You will receive a balanced training in contentious and non-contentious work. Within that, we aim to accommodate individual preferences. Support during your training One of the things that makes our training so special is a unique structure of supervisors and "minders". In each of the departments you work in, a partner will take personal responsibility for your supervision, progress and well-being. Another minder partner will oversee your training for the whole two year period. Your minder will review all aspects of your training and make sure that any issues you feel you cannot raise with your supervising partner can be properly addressed. You will also have your own personal "buddy" - a second year trainee - to work closely with you. Having recently gone through the process themselves, your buddy can identify with any difficulties or problems you may have. This way of working opens up a continuing dialogue and mutual understanding that creates real opportunities for you to achieve your personal goals. Work/life balance Every firm you consider will expect loyalty and commitment. We're no exception. But we don't demand the impossible. And we do expect you to have a life. So, while we will give you early responsibility and involvement, we won't give you an unbearable workload. And at every step of the way you'll have the infrastructure and the support on hand to ensure that you're on top of the situation. But there's much more to life than work alone. And getting together to relax and enjoy ourselves has always been an important part of our culture. So when it comes to play, whether you're sporting or simply social, you'll find we do plenty to make that part of your life richer and more enjoyable too. |
