 "Innovation has become a theme for RPC and 2015 was no different" according to Legal Week this was just part of the rationale behind awarding RPC the coveted title of Law Firm of the Year 2015, The British Legal Awards. The judges also praised RPC for its strong financial results and for "really looking after its staff".    Described as "a trailblazer" by The Lawyer, RPC was awarded the prestigious Law Firm of the Year Award in 2014. We were recognised not only for our innovative approach to client service and pricing,and our financial and strategic accomplishments but also our forward-thinking approach to supporting our own talent through development initiatives for lawyers across all levels of the business. Overall Best Legal Adviser 2015 - Legal Week, Best Legal Adviser Report

RPC once again had a very successful year in the prestigious Legal Week Best Legal Adviser Report, ranking first overall out of 383 firms surveyed and the only firm to come in the top five in each of the 10 categories measured. This means RPC has now achieved Best Legal Adviser status seven years running, and come out top twice in the last three years.

 

 

Competition and Regulatory Team of the Year 2015 - The British Legal Awards

According to the judges at The British Legal Awards, "RPC's team pulled off a major coup, not only successfully challenging the jurisdiction of the Competition and Markets Authority to review a merger, but defeating it in a subsequent Court of Appeal case." The judges also praised the firm’s "ground-breaking, impressive victories".
 
 

Law Firm of the Year - Halsbury Legal Awards 2014

RPC won the Law Firm of the Year award at the Halsbury Legal Awards, building on an incredibly successful 2014. We were also shortlisted for the Diversity & Inclusion Award.

 

 

Commercial Team of the Year 2014 –  The British Legal Awards

A team headed by Mark Crichard won this top award after advising two NHS Trusts on a ground-breaking £1bn joint venture with private pathology provider, Sonic Healthcare. This highly complex deal has created the largest provider of pathology services in the UK.

 

 

Competition Team of the Year 2014 – Legal Business

A team represented cross-Channel ferry operator MyFerryLink on its successful appeal to the Competition Appeal Tribunal challenging the Competition Commission's prohibition decision in the Eurotunnel/Sea France merger.

 

 Corporate Social Responsibility Initiative of the Year- British Insurance Awards 2014

The only law firm to win an award at these prestigious awards for the Insurance industry, RPC won for a trio of initiatives which promotes greater diversity and inclusion in the business. Through Female Insurance Group, we work to bring women together from across the Insurance sector to tackle issues like promoting more women to the boardroom with keynote speakers and training sessions. Our involvement with LGBT Insurance Network, sees us provide board level support to helping the network develop further. Outside of that, we also provide event space for network meet ups and lend our marketing skills to help further promote the network. Lastly, Limitless London was launched by one of our Partners to help provide young adults in Barking & Dagenham with a path into the City mentoring and guidance. These three initiatives help to make not just RPC an inclusive place to work but help to make the Insurance sector a little bit more diverse.

After experiencing impressive organic growth in the face of tough market conditions (and opening three new offices in just two years), we were nominated for this coveted award and were up against a number of large firms. This capped off a year of nominations for this top award at both the British Legal Awards and The Lawyer Awards.

 

 Best Legal Adviser 2013 – Legal Week Client Satisfaction Report

We are ranked first overall out of 106 law firms benchmarked and have achieved Best Legal Adviser status five years running. The largest of its kind, the survey measures how satisfied clients are across a range of criteria, including quality of legal advice, quality of commercial advice and service delivery.

 

 Property Team of the Year 2013 – British Legal Awards Shortlisted

Members from our Construction Team were nominated for this award after the successful work they did for the high profile work they did on the Greenwich Development in South London.

 

 Best Trainee Recruitment Campaign – The Lawyer Management Awards

Our innovative Manifesto campaign won out over some of the largest names in the industry, gaining particular praise for its approach to dissuading unsuitable candidates from applying as much as attracting the right kind of people for RPC.

 

 Best Tax Team in a Law Firm 2013 – Taxation Awards

Adam Craggs and his team were recognised for the innovative app they developed for clients, which brings together current news and blogs for clients in an easy to use format.

 

 Best Legal Employer 2013 – Legal Week Employee Satisfaction Report

This accreditation comes off the back of the annual survey conducted by Legal Week which gauges how satisfied lawyers are with the firms that they work for. The survey measures everything from quality of internal communication to the standard of training on offer. This is the second year in a row that we've achieved this accolade.

 

 Insurance Team of the Year 2012 – Legal Business

A team headed by partners Stuart White and Catherine Percy provided crucial advice to the insurance industry in the wake of the summer riots of 2011. 

 

 Corporate Team of the Year (midcap) 2012 – The Lawyer

James Mee and David Wallis led a team that advised Swedish consumer products company Svenska Cellulosa Aktiebolaget on its $1.8bn acquisition of Georgia-Pacific’s European tissue operations in a deal that spanned 22 jurisdictions.

 

 Service Provider of the Year 2012 – The British Insurance Awards

RPC was recognised for its work in support of the insurance industry following the riots in England in 2011.

 

Professional Adviser of the Year – The London Market Awards
Sponsored by respected magazine Insurance Day, in 2012 RPC became the first law firm to win this award following the innovative advice we gave to the insurance industry in the wake of the summer riots of 2011.

The RPC team was recognised for its innovative and flexible approach to rewarding its employees, and how that links to the firm's overall commitment to career development.

 

 

Top 20 Placement and Internship Employer 2012 – RateMyPlacement
This independent survey asks people who have spent time on placement to rate the quality of the scheme they attended. It is cross-industry, rather than restricted just to law. RPC came 16th, ahead of major global brands such as BP, Accenture, Microsoft and Credit Suisse.
