Jamie specialises in construction and engineering matters and advises on both contentious and non-contentious issues.

Jamie regularly advises clients on construction contracts, professional appointments, development agreements, frameworks, letters of intent, collateral warranties, duty of care deeds, bonds and guarantees.

He also advises clients on the resolution of disputes through various mechanisms including litigation, adjudication and mediation.

Jamie is highly experienced with a wide range of industry standard form documents and also advises on bespoke documentation.

Relevant work

Lead construction adviser on three large public sector framework agreements (with an estimated value of £4bn of work to be let across the life of those contracts), with the work predominantly involving the drafting of various call off contracts.

Lead construction adviser in connection with the development of the largest logistics facility of its type in Europe including the procurement of the state of the art handling equipment within the facility, the project involved a c£100m investment for the client.

Advising a British University in connection with its multimillion major refurbishment work, adopting a construction management strategy, to its iconic Stirling and Gowan designed premises where part of the funding derived from the European Investment Bank.

Advising an international engineering practice in connection with disputes with an international mining company on a project in a Sub-Saharan African state.

Advising an Employer in connection with its multimillion claims against its professional team and main contractor for defects in the construction of its distribution centre.
