Kiran's experience includes advising a variety of businesses on commercial and privacy related issues. He has a particular expertise in data protection and technology, and has led RPC's Hackathon team in a global coding competition.

He has experience in advising insurers, social media platforms, payments organisations, advertisers, and many other types of businesses on the best way to organise their data protection and privacy practices. This includes running privacy and UK GDPR maturity audits, designing marketing and advertising processes, reviewing app user journeys, responding to data subject access requests, amending privacy notices and policies and negotiating data processing and sharing agreements. He also has provided pragmatic advice on privacy matters arising from novel data processing programmes and emerging technologies, such as blockchain and AI. 

Highlights include advising a novel data sharing platform provider which stores personal data on a blockchain on privacy law compliance, an insurer conducting high-risk automated profiling of individuals on a large scale and a dating app in releasing personal data in the context of an international criminal investigation.

He also has a keen interest in technology, having created and led RPC's Hackathon team in the Global Legal Hackathon 2020 and maintained RPC's TechShare technology learning programme.
