Megan is an Associate at RPC in the Media team

Megan specialises in defending clients against defamation, privacy, media regulation and data protection claims. She has acted on behalf of media organisations, publishers, individual journalists, social media companies, media insurers and other organisations based in the UK and overseas on matters related to freedom of expression and information.

Megan has varied experience across all stages of litigation, including pre-action settlements. She has worked on a wide variety of High Court claims including Various Claimants v MGN Limited (voicemail interception litigation); Zoë Harcombe / Dr Malcolm Kendrick v Associated Newspapers Limited & anor, and Duke of Sussex v Associated Newspapers Limited. Megan also has extensive experience defending claims in the Small Claims track and claims involving litigants in person.

Megan trained with RPC, completing seats in the firm's Media, Corporate and Professional & Financial Risks (Insurance) teams. She was also seconded for six months to one of RPC's key retail clients working on various matters including contentious and non-contentious IP, commercial contracts and commercial litigation.

Before joining RPC in September 2021, Megan obtained a First class degree in Law with Canadian Law at the University of Nottingham and spent one year studying Canadian law at the University of British Columbia. She also obtained a distinction in the LPC MSc at the University of Law.
