Focusing on general commercial disputes, Michael Maguiness specialises in handling professional negligence claims and advising on insurance related matters.

With extensive experience handling a variety of general commercial disputes in both Hong Kong and New Zealand, Michael acts for a wide range of professionals and their insurers with a particular focus on claims against construction professionals including architects, engineers, contractors and surveyors as well as accountants and other financial service professionals.

Michael has acted as monitoring counsel on behalf of insurers and routinely advises insurers on complex coverage issues which arise in relation to professional negligence claims.
