Rico Chan is an Associate at Hong Kong's Commercial Disputes team.
Rico's practice has two main areas of focus. On the cyber and fintech side, he deals with everything from cybersecurity incidents to regulatory advice. Rico also handles a wide range of complex commercial cases, often with a cross-border element involving Mainland Chinese and foreign entities.
He regularly writes on technology-related issues in Hong Kong Lawyer, and has contributed to a new supplement on cyber law in Chitty on Contracts, a book of authority often relied upon by judges.
During his training at RPC, he was seconded to London's banking team where he handled complex international finance projects. Prior to joining the firm, he has studied Mainland Chinese law and worked for one of the largest Chinese arbitration institutions in Beijing.
He speaks fluent English, native Mandarin and Cantonese.
