Following on from advising on the Chaucer/Axa SPS, RPC is advising on the acquisition of ANV Holding B.V. by Nasdaq listed AmTrust Financial Services, for $218.7m.

On completion, which is subject to regulatory approval, AmTrust will acquire ANV and its affiliates. AmTrust will support ANV’s Funds at Lloyd’s.

The RPC team was led by James Mee, Head of Corporate Insurance and Financial Services, and David Wallis, Partner in the private equity team specialising in financial services transactions.

Commenting on the deal, James Mee says: “We’re delighted to announce our second major insurance deal in a week.  We have acted for the team at ANV, working closely with them since 2012, through their various acquisitions and now on their announced sale to AmTrust.  The next phase of the ANV/AmTrust journey promises to be particularly interesting.  We're pleased to support and have the support of our key clients on such interesting and challenging work."

“The success of this transaction emphasises our strengths in transactional insurance, bringing together our corporate, finance and regulatory knowledge with our insurance market expertise.”

“Two major cross-border insurance deals in one week underlines our capacity to handle complex and substantial work in the insurance sector.”
