RPC advises AssuredPartners on the acquisition of Gallivan Murphy Insurance Brokers

Published on 26 April 2022

International law firm RPC has advised its longstanding client Assured Partners on the acquisition of high growth brokerage Gallivan Murphy Insurance Brokers (GMIB). The deal is subject to regulatory approval and is anticipated to complete in summer 2022.

GMIB's 85-strong team will be joining AssuredPartners, which is one of the fastest growing, independent insurance agencies in the United States, UK, Ireland and Europe. AssuredPartners has offices in 5 countries and more than circa 8,500 employees.

This deal marks an important step in its strategy by establishing a scalable platform in Ireland, following recent transactions in Scotland and England. AssuredPartners' press announcement is here.

The RPC deal team was led by financial services transactions lead James Mee, working closely with fellow partner Chris Brierley and senior associate Jenny Tran, and was supported by colleagues across the firm.

Commenting on the transaction, Mee said: "It is a great privilege to assist with AssuredPartners' first acquisition in Ireland.

"AssuredPartners is one of the fastest growing, independent insurance agencies worldwide and its latest acquisition showcases its commitment to further growth."

The RPC team worked closely alongside William Fry (Eoin Caulfield and Ian Murray led the team).
