RPC advises Howden on acquisition of SPF Private Clients
International law firm RPC has advised international insurance broker Howden on its acquisition of leading financial services business SPF Private Clients (SPF).
Under the deal, which is subject to regulatory approval, Howden will extend its offering to the mortgage broking market while enhancing the firm's existing general insurance and wealth management offering, including its high net worth and private client focused businesses.
It also serves to further underpin Howden’s commitment to invest in the UK economy and its 110 high street branches, while providing clients with better access to high-quality and personal advice.
SPF will join Howden’s UK & Ireland business to further enhance its position as the leading independent insurance distributor in the region.
Today, SPF is a high-quality financial services intermediary specialising in residential and commercial mortgage broking, commercial real estate insurance, high net worth personal lines insurance, property title insurance, life assurance and associated wealth management consulting. We are very grateful to James, Chris, Marsha and the wider RPC team for, yet again, supporting us with their sensible and commercially focused legal advice on this significant transaction."
James Mee, who led the RPC team, said: “It is a privilege to work closely with Lee, Chris and the Howden team as they build out in this area. We're sure the business will go from strength to strength."
