RPC advises on major cross-border technology acquisition

Firm's Corporate team handles European deal for acquisitive US-based Park Place Technologies

City-headquartered law firm RPC has advised multinational Park Place Technologies on the complex acquisition of London-based Com-Com, a leading, independent, alternative supplier to businesses and institutions of IT storage, server and networking support, hardware supply and other IT services.

Park Place Technologies – part of Chicago private equity firm GTCR's portfolio of businesses – is a leading provider of hardware maintenance and support and one of the fastest-growing technology companies in the United States.

The RPC team was led by Richard Haywood, Partner, assisted by Ben Heywood, Associate and Graham Spalding, Legal Director, from the firm's Corporate team. Senior Associate Ben Roberts advised on tax aspects.

Commenting on the deal, Richard Haywood said: “After helping Park Place Technologies to establish in Europe last year, we're delighted to advise on this strategic acquisition which furthers their impressive growth in Europe."

RPC provided legal counsel to Park Place Technologies with PwC providing corporate finance advice.

The deal closed on 15 September 2016.
