The City-headquartered law firm RPC has appointed Oliver Bray as its new Senior Partner for a three-year term by the firm's partnership. The Senior Partner role at RPC includes supporting the firm's Managing Partner on partnership affairs.

Oliver succeeds outgoing Senior Partner Rupert Boswall with immediate effect.

Commercial Disputes Partner Rupert Boswall stepped down after completing two three-year terms as Senior Partner, the maximum allowed under RPC's partnership deed.

Commenting on the election of Oliver Bray, Managing Partner James Miller said: "Congratulations to Oliver. He is energetic and a very passionate lawyer and embodies a new and fresh approach. Oliver has proven he is a firm believer in RPC's strong people-based culture and client-centred approach to doing business. Many of the largest tech companies see him as a key advisor, so I am grateful to have him on my team for what will be a transformative phase for law firms, in which I have no doubt, RPC will play a positive part."

"I would like to thank Rupert on behalf of the entire partnership for having done a tremendous job as Senior Partner over the last six years. He is a brilliant lawyer and will continue to be a real asset to the firm and our industry-leading Commercial Litigation team."

Entering his 17th year at RPC, Oliver is a highly experienced Commercial lawyer, advising clients in Digital Media/Emerging Technologies, Advertising and Marketing, Data Protection and Consumer Law. Oliver is recognised as a Leading Individual by the Legal Directories for RPC's Tier 1 Brand Management practice and a Hall of Fame individual for Commercial Contracts.

He is Chairman of the City of London Law Society Commercial Law Committee, a member of the Ad Law Group and an editorial board member of Digital Business Lawyer and Entertainment Law Review. He is also a former winner of the Best Client Partner award at the British Legal Awards.

Commenting on his appointment, Oliver said: "I am very much looking forward to helping the partnership and the wider firm meet the challenges of the fast-changing legal market, not least thanks to my experience of working with the world's leading tech platforms. Alongside my new role as Senior Partner, I will continue to be part of our first-class tech team supporting our clients in driving innovation in a rapidly growing digital economy".
