RPC boosts Tech and Data offering with new Partner

Jon Bartley joins the firm with over 20 years' experience advising on digital, technology and data protection

RPC has hired Technology and Data Protection specialist Jon Bartley as a Partner in its London office.

Jon joins the firm's Commercial Team, where he will be working closely alongside fellow Partner Oliver Bray. He comes from Penningtons Manches where he was a Partner and co-head of the firm's Data Team. 

Jon advises on a broad range of commercial matters for domestic and international clients, including digital implementation, ecommerce, consumer, and data protection.

"I've known Jon for many years as we sit on the City of London's Law Society's Commercial Committee together," said Oliver. "He is a technically excellent lawyer, with a solid commercial background and great client focus. He's also got all the specialist skills we need to keep supporting, and growing, our stellar client base".

The move comes just months after senior barrister, Nicola Cain, joined RPC's Media practice from the BBC. Nicola has significant contentious data protection expertise and is also part of RPC's multi-disciplinary Data Protection Group.

Jon joined RPC on 3 July.
