Independent insurance management consulting and actuarial services business opens in France.

RPC Consulting – the independent management and actuarial consulting firm, and subsidiary of law firm RPC – has opened an office in Paris with the hire of Stéphane Chappellier, former founding partner of EMB France and associate of Towers Watson and Actuaris. The Paris operation will be known as RPC France SAS.

RPC Consulting was founded in 2015. The service is focused on helping its insurance clients develop their businesses by advising in the following areas:

  • strategy;
  • actuarial consulting;
  • capital management;
  • insurance regulation;
  • innovation and operational efficiency;
  • mergers and acquisitions; and
  • outsourcing.

RPC Consulting expanded its services in July 2015 with the acquisition of software company Marriott Sinclair, the owner of the market-leading capital modelling programme Tyche.

Alun Marriott said: “I'm delighted that Stéphane has agreed to join RPC. His expertise in actuarial science as well as in new areas such as the Internet of Things, Big Data, and BlockChain Phyd combined with his market experience as a practitioner and consultant, will be crucial to the deployment of our new services to the French market, which is a key territory in the worldwide insurance industry.”

Stéphane Chappellier said: “In a sector faced with strong regulatory constraints and the disruptive effect of new technologies, there is a real opportunity for a new high value consultancy offering. I share RPC's ambition and desire to do things differently in the best interest of our clients, so it is natural and logical for me to join a firm with innovation and entrepreneurial spirit in its genes."

RPC France is based at 75 Boulevard Haussmann.
