City-headquartered law firm RPC has hired business restructuring partner Finella Fogarty to work across its disputes, commercial and corporate practice. She joins from DWF, where she was head of the firm's Business Restructuring practice, becoming partner in 2014 after joining from DLA Piper.

  • Finella Fogarty, former Head of Business Restructuring at DWF, to join RPC
  • Assumes leadership role in Restructuring and Insolvency team
  • Second senior hire for Restructuring and Insolvency team in less than 6 months

Finella is a very highly regarded practitioner and has extensive experience in advising insolvency practitioners, corporates and individuals on both contentious and non-contentious restructuring and formal insolvency, from special administrations to corporate restructurings and retail administrations.
Commenting on Finella's arrival, RPC's Global Head of the Commercial Disputes Practice Tom Hibbert noted: "We are delighted to welcome Finella at RPC, and to do so shortly after the arrival of Paul Bagon. Finella is a natural leader and has been a rising star in business restructuring circles. We are particularly pleased that someone with Finella's track record in building and leading practices has chosen to join RPC to continue to build out her practice."

Adding to this, the Head of RPC's Retail Group Jeremy Drew said: "We already work for some of the biggest brands in the market. Finella's first class knowledge and expertise of insolvency and restructuring, and her wide retail sector experience, will be a massive boost to our retail clients - as our market leading commercial and dispute practices work in tandem to support transformation and manage risks for those operating in the retail sector."

Karen Hendy, Head of RPC's Corporate Group added: "We have a high-calibre corporate practice with a breadth of experience which already does a significant amount of work in the R&I space, including restructurings and distressed purchases.  We're delighted Finella will be joining us as she has exactly the type of specialist skills and experience, including working with large corporates, that will further enhance RPC's offering as we look to support and grow our client base".

Finella Fogarty said: "In times of growing financial distress, stakeholders are looking at new ways to restructure debt and businesses, RPC's reputation as a commercial disputes powerhouse with strong corporate credentials across retail, insurance, technology, financial services and beyond made it a natural fit for partnership. I was also particularly drawn to the firm's genuine commitment to collegiality, collaboration and the highest level of client service; I can't wait to get started."

Finella has joined RPC this week and will be joined by DWF's William Beck (Of Counsel), Danielle Bennett (Senior Associate) and James Whelan (Associate).
