Banking and finance litigator Jonathan Crompton joins the Asian office as a Partner

Professional services firm, RPC, has hired banking and finance litigator Jonathan Crompton as a Partner in its Hong Kong office. He joins RPC's Commercial Disputes practice from US firm, Proskauer Rose.

Jonathan specialises in banking and finance related disputes, including advising financial services firms on white-collar and regulatory investigations, and cross-border litigation. He also acts for multi-national clients in the communications, media and technology, and sports industries.

Jonathan is dual-qualified in England and Hong Kong, having trained at Allen & Overy in London before moving to Hong Kong nine years ago. He has since acted for clients across Asia, Europe and North America, working in Hong Kong and Bangkok.

RPC's conflict free Banking and Finance Litigation practice spans London, Hong Kong and Singapore. The addition of Jonathan brings RPC’s Hong Kong office Partner headcount to nine.

Hong Kong Senior Partner, David Smyth said: "The addition of Jonathan demonstrates our continued dedication to developing our practice in Hong Kong. Our global Commercial Disputes practice is gaining ground every day, and Hong Kong is no exception. Through Jonathan's arrival, we're looking to continue to mirror the service we provide our Asian clients to that which we offer in London."

"Jonathan brings with him an established network of contacts and a strong pipeline of work. He is ambitious and driven, and is the right fit for our team and for RPC," comments Tom Hibbert, Global Head of Commercial Disputes.

Jonathan said: "RPC has an excellent reputation acting on complex finance litigation. There are clear ties between the firm’s existing strengths and my practice. I'm excited about joining the partnership at RPC and am looking forward to working with the team in Hong Kong, Singapore and London to build on the multi-jurisdictional, multi-disciplinary services we can offer clients."

Jonathan's arrival comes as Banking and Finance Litigation Partner Jonathan Cary has relocated to London after three years in the Hong Kong office. Jonathan Cary will continue to work with the Commercial Disputes team in Hong Kong and Singapore.
