Matt is a Partner who deals with claims against directors and officers and provides coverage advice to Insurers predominantly in relation to D&O risks.

On the defence side, Matt's experience includes defending a group of directors against a £20m claim for breach of fiduciary duty (proceedings currently ongoing (application to strike out claim pending)). Other examples include dealing with a shareholder dispute involving directors of SME manufacturing companies. 

Matt has also gained invaluable experience from his secondment as a claims handler at one of the leading Insurers. During Matt's secondment, he handled claims against directors & officers with a particular focus on SME businesses. 

On top of Matt's defence work, he also advises on coverage and (monitoring) with many instructions having an international element. 

Matt also often advises on claims against financial professionals (predominantly accountants) and has experience dealing with regulatory matters including before the ACCA, ICAEW and the Financial Ombudsman Service.
