Jessica Kingsbury

Associate

Jessica is an Associate in the Media team.

Jessica qualified into the Media team in September 2022. She specialises in defending clients in defamation, privacy, data protection, breach of confidence, content and online intermediary disputes. She also advises on pre-publication matters. Jessica acts on behalf of a variety of clients, including newspapers and individual journalists, media organisations, publishers, social media companies, media insurers and broadcasters. 

Jessica has experience across all stages of litigation, including pre-action settlements. She has acted in cases before the High Court and Court of Appeal, as well as in Coronial Inquests.  She has worked on a number of high-profile cases, including Various Claimants v MGN Limited (voicemail interception litigation), Duke of Sussex v Associated Newspapers Limited; Duchess of Sussex v Associated Newspapers Limited. Jessica also has extensive experience defending claims in the Small Claims track and claims involving litigants in person.

Jessica supports RPC's Online Safety Special Interest Group, which focuses on Online Safety regulation in the UK.

Jessica trained with RPC, completing seats in the firm's Media, Commercial and Banking Litigation, and Professional & Financial Risks (Insurance) teams. She was also seconded for six months to one of RPC's key social media clients working in their European Data Protection Commercial Compliance team.
