International law firm RPC announced today that Lindsay Warwick, a leading media litigator, joins as Partner. An already powerful bench of over ten media litigators, the appointment cements the firm's reputation as having the UK's leading media defence practice.

Coming from Associated Newspapers Limited (ANL), publisher of the Daily Mail, Mail on Sunday, MailOnline, the i and Metro, where she served as Deputy Head of Editorial Legal Services, Lindsay qualified at RPC in 2007 leaving to go in-house at ANL in 2011.

On the appointment, Partner and Head of Commercial, Jeremy Drew says: "To have such a well-respected media lawyer train with us, go on to be the Deputy Head of a major media group and then return, is fantastic. We're delighted Lindsay wants to be part of our growth strategy and work with us to expand our footprint in media litigation."

In recent years Lindsay has been at the forefront of one of the UK's top editorial advice teams where she has advised on ground-breaking stories, IPSO complaints, compliance issues and editorial policy, all in addition to being involved in some of the most high-profile media cases in the UK and overseas.

Partner and Head of Media, Rupert Cowper-Coles echoes the sentiment saying: "Lindsay knows the team well and brings exceptional first-hand experience of both media litigation and the broader challenges our clients face. We're delighted to have Lindsay's experience and knowledge on board to help us continue to support our clients."

Commenting on her move to RPC, Lindsay Warwick remarks: "Returning to RPC feels like coming home. Having worked for over ten years with journalists, editors, executives and fellow in-house lawyers I absolutely understand the challenges faced by the media and those who work in the sector. I am thrilled to be bringing that experience to RPC and to be joining forces with the firm's fantastic media experts. I aim not only to uphold but to elevate RPC's stellar reputation as the UK's leading media defence practice."

The RPC media and entertainment practice has been a leader in media litigation for over 20 years and is widely acknowledged to be the UK's prominent media defence practice. Acting for the best-known media organisations, publishers and online platforms in the UK and abroad, RPC has advised on some of the most high-profile defamation, privacy and data protections cases in recent years, including cases against the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, a claim brought by Arron Banks against Carole Cadwalladr and the seminal Supreme Court privacy case of ZXC v Bloomberg.
