International law firm RPC announced today that James Channo joins as Partner in its London Corporate practice.

James brings with him a Senior Associate and two NQs, allowing the firm to expand its equity capital markets (ECM) and public companies' work.

James advises on a wide range of corporate matters, including AIM and main market listings (IPOs), secondary fundraisings, cross-border M&A, joint ventures, and other international transactional work in multiple sectors.

Karen Hendy, Partner and Head of Corporate at RPC says: "We have advised on a number of significant public market transactions this year. Having James on board allows us to further expand our existing ECM and public company offering. James' experience, relationships and reputation, including his international capability, will also allow us to continue to support clients across the firm as their business' evolve and grow."

James was Head of Corporate and, for a number of years Managing Partner, at Locke Lord in London before joining Ince as a Partner and Head of Corporate. His prior transactions over the years include the listings of Supergroup (Superdry) on the LSE, Adriatic Metals, SolGold, BSF Enterprise, Roquefort Therapeutics, and acting for Derriston Capital in connection with the reverse takeover of S4 Capital. He remarks: "I was attracted to the international platform and nature of RPC and joining an existing team of highly experienced corporate finance and commercial lawyers. The firm has created a business that allows me to retain my current breadth of practice, presenting a natural fit not only for my practice but for my clients – there's cultural synergy."

"This is an important and strategic appointment for RPC," adds Partner and Head of Commercial, Jeremy Drew. "James' practice complements our existing Corporate Partners. It's also an opportunity to support clients of the wider Commercial group across our key sectors: retail, consumer, insurance, technology and media.

"Already a high-performing team working on complex transactions, James' specialist skill set and market knowledge is a sign for greater things in the Corporate practice."
