For us, success comes from building real-life relationships.
Real-life relationships with our clients as much as our people. And it comes from thinking creatively to achieve the best commercial solutions. We thrive in an environment that’s collaborative, forward-thinking and where you’re free to express your personality. An environment that allows you to make the most of your strengths.
We offer top quality legal services across numerous sectors. Recognised as leaders in industries ranging from retail to insurance, technology to media, and well beyond, we have the expertise to handle bet-the-business litigation, complex regulatory challenges, transformational transactions and so much more. And we've also established a Centre for Legal Leadership and helped to found TerraLex, a leading global legal network. Meanwhile, our lawyers are regular commentators on key issues in the legal sector.
Life at RPC
We all know work’s important. But we think downtime’s vital too. That’s why you can enjoy all kinds of activities and a real social life. It’s not just drinks after work (although that certainly happens). It’s eating out, sports teams, exploring culture and singing your heart out in our choir. Most of these activities are still taking place virtually in one way or another.
Inclusion & Diversity
People are at the heart of everything that we do. And that is critical to our success.
We want every person at RPC to feel valued, respected and free to be themselves. And it makes business sense too - different backgrounds, different perspectives and different experiences all make us who we are and mean that we can offer the most innovative and diverse thinking to our clients.
We've put into place a number of initiatives and development programmes to not only support our people as they progress through their careers, but to also ensure that our population is as reflective of society as possible.
Internally, we have eight I&D internal networks – we call them 'Work Streams' – focussed on gender, ethnicity, mental health, caring responsibilities, social mobility, LGBT+, faith and disability. RPC RAIN, the firm's LGBT+ network, spans the firm's London and Bristol offices and advocates for inclusion in the workplace as well. Underpinning our I&D networks is allies@RPC, our peer network committed to supporting colleagues and promoting the inclusive culture at the firm.
We also partner with a number of organisations including;
- Aspiring Solicitors (and we are a Founder Member of the Aspiring Solicitors Foundation)
- Business Disability Form
- The Women's Insurance Network
- Law Society's City Law Firm Diversity & Inclusion Forum
Corporate Social Responsibility
Committed to Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), RPC has a dedicated steering group of lawyers and support staff working to promote the importance of CSR and the firm's values both internally and externally.
Continually seeking to develop and improve our standards, RPC's steering group drives our strategy forward, educating, informing and engaging our stakeholders to deliver "remarkable experiences, brilliant outcomes", for our clients, our people and our community.
We also focus on our efforts on our own people. We recruit and retain outstanding individuals at all levels, by applying a consistent approach throughout the firm. We have a robust equality policy and promote diversity, opportunity and employee choice, and provide a forum to undertake non-work related activity with others in the firm, such as RPC Harmony, the firm choir, and numerous others.
We have three CSR workstreams dedicated to Pro Bono, Environment and Charity and community.
We are also committed to minimising our negative impact upon the environment as far as is practically possible. In 2006 we moved to Tower Bridge House, a state of the art building designed by Richard Rogers with environmental sustainability in mind. At the time of our move, we planted a forest of 10,735 trees in Leicestershire to offset the environmental impact of our relocation and future CO2 emissions. We also take part in the Ride2Work scheme, which enables employees who cycle to work to purchase a bicycle tax-free.
