Specialising in property insurance, casualty claims and construction and property related losses, as well as pharmaceutical/ competition disputes, in the UK and internationally, Catherine Percy is an experienced insurance lawyer and commercial dispute resolution lawyer.

Catherine advises on property damage and business interruption losses and has been involved in major coverage and adjustment disputes arising from hurricane losses, major flooding incidents and factory explosions through to mining losses, landslips, industrial fires and thefts.

 

She has extensive liability experience dealing with all types of casualty claim, particularly those relating to the construction and manufacturing sectors. She is known for her expertise in fraudulent claims and moral hazard issues. Catherine advises and represents insurers, policy holders and their captives in subrogation actions.

 

Catherine also has significant experience of pharmaceutical/competition litigation (including follow on and damages claims) involving health service providers in the UK. The nature of her practice means that she is often involved in complex multi-party litigation, arbitration or other forms of dispute resolution, particularly mediation, here and internationally.

 

Following the 2011 UK riots, Catherine advised insurers and liaised with the ABI on coverage issues and claims and is a member of the Home Office Core Group assisting with the reform of the Riot (Damages) Act 1886 and the regulations and guidance for the new Riot Compensation Act 2016.

 

She drafts and advises on wordings and is a regular speaker and writer on insurance  and dispute related topics.
