Heather is a highly experienced disputes lawyer who acts on behalf of a range of international corporate clients. Her work typically involves complex, high value commercial litigation, with a particular emphasis on civil fraud cases and banking disputes. She is a member of the Law Society of Scotland.

“I adapt well to the changing demands of high-value commercial litigation”

“I enjoy working in commercial and banking disputes because the work is so varied and I enjoy the fast-paced environment. I adapt well to the changing demands of high-value commercial litigation, and work closely with the matter partner to ensure that the associate and barrister team runs smoothly and efficiently.

Almost all of the cases I work on have an international element. I have a lot of experience in cross-border fraud cases, including tracing assets through multiple jurisdictions, liaising with lawyers in Europe, the US and Asia, and litigating foreign law claims in the English Courts.

My focus is always on providing commercially-minded, to-the-point advice that enables clients to make informed legal decisions.”

Heather’s recent work highlights:

Acted for the Claimants in an international fraud claim in which it was alleged that the company's CEO conspired with the Defendants to extract around €100 million from the company over an eight-year period.

Acted for an investor in a US$100 million claim against Credit Suisse, arising out of the purchase of a CDO linked to RMBS.

Acted for a large technology company in relation to international debt recovery and asset tracing.
