Kirtan Prasad

Of Counsel

Kirtan is an experienced commercial and financial disputes lawyer, who is "well regarded for international arbitration, especially India matters." She represents clients before the English Commercial Court and has experience of arbitration under a range of rules, including the LCIA, ICC, SIAC, SCMA, DIAC and ICSID rules, and ad-hoc arbitrations. Her work has spanned both civil and common law jurisdictions, with a focus on cases with an Asian dimension. She is qualified to practice in three leading international dispute resolution centres: Singapore, New York State and England & Wales.

“I enjoy understanding and unlocking complex international disputes; navigating different legal systems while being mindful of cultural sensitivities.”

I act for sovereigns, financial institutions, HNWIs, hedge funds, energy companies, car manufacturers and hotel operators, among others, in commercial court litigation and international arbitrations.

Directories describe me as being 'very hard working' with a 'head for detail’, and as ‘a strategic thinker’, but what I enjoy most is working with clients, experts and co-counsel across jurisdictions.

I practised in Singapore for a number of years before moving to London. Nearly all of the matters I work on are complex international commercial disputes. My personal and professional background make me especially adept at navigating the interplay between different legal systems and being attuned to cultural sensitivities.

Clients kindly credit me with having an easy conversational style. I believe an open channel of communication is essential to understanding, strategising and unlocking even the most complex cases.

I regularly contribute to seminars and articles on international dispute resolution, particularly arbitration.
