Leonia Chesterfield

Leonia Chesterfield is a recommended lawyer in RPC's Legal 500 2024 ranked Competition Litigation team, specialising in competition disputes including collective proceedings in the UK's Competition Appeal Tribunal.

Leonia specialises in class actions, competition damages claims and consumer redress. 

Having joined RPC in 2021, Leonia brings with her several years' worth of prior CMA experience where she worked across Litigation, Mergers and Policy and International teams. Leonia also represented the UK's policy interests at the OECD's Competition Committee. 

Leonia's broad expertise spans regulatory investigations, antitrust litigation, merger control and consumer law. She has led litigation and carried out dawn raids on behalf of the authority. While at the CMA, Leonia worked on digital competition policy issues and consumer redress mechanisms with BEIS colleagues.

Before RPC, Leonia also held the role of General Counsel at a successful fintech start up helping establish a new stock exchange for real estate assets (an FCA Recognised Investment Exchange). 

Starting out as a litigator in the City, Leonia holds an MA in Competition Law and a Postgraduate Diploma in Competition Law (King's College London).  Her 2014 Masters thesis focussed on the proposed collective proceedings reforms brought in under the Consumer Rights Act 2015.

Leonia also holds a Maîtrise in French Law from the Sorbonne (Université de Paris I).
