Ollie is Partner in the Professional & Financial Risks insurance team specialising in complex FI/D&O coverage dispute and director/financial institution defence.

Ollie's practice involves (1) advising London market financial lines insurers on coverage under PI, D&O, IMI and Crime insurance policy wordings (2) monitoring high value, complex FI/D&O claims, including across international jurisdictions and (3) defending financial institutions and directors at each step of the litigation process in England & Wales. 

Ollie trained at RPC (where, as well as insurance he experienced seats in banking litigation and corporate debt finance) and has undertaken secondments at Arch Syndicate 2012 and AXIS Capital. These experiences, together with previous positions in investment management and audit, set the basis for his understanding of technical financial products and the types of claims that might arise out of these.

Ollie was previously a founding member of the Under-35 British Insurance Law Association.

Relevant work

  • Ollie has acted on some of the most high-profile and high-value FI/D&O coverage cases in the London market in recent years, including 4 cases that have made The Lawyer's "Top 20" cases since 2020. 
  • As part of Ollie's D&O practice, he has carved out a specialism in two particular areas, namely (i) white collar crime investigations / proceedings by bodies such as the SFO, the FCA and HMRC and (ii) UK shareholder claims under s90/s90A FSMA 2000.
