Thomas McCall
Senior Associate

Thomas is a Senior Associate specialising in complex High Court litigation and international arbitration. He has acted for insurers, re-insurers and multinational companies.

Thomas has substantial experience of working on high value and complex cases involving international clients, counsel and subject matter.  

Thomas has recent experience acting in international arbitration, under ad-hoc, LCIA and ICC arbitration rules. His clients have included large manufacturers, underwriters and high net worth individuals.  

In litigation proceedings, Thomas has acted for clients in the Admiralty, Chancery, Commercial and Circuit Commercial Court as well as in the Judicial Committee of the Privy Council. Many of these claims, as with his arbitration matters, have involved allegations of civil fraud.

Thomas has particular experience in actions involving States having, at a previous firm, successfully obtained recognition of a US judgment against Syria and commenced enforcement proceedings.    

Before joining RPC in 2021, Thomas was in the international arbitration and disputes group of a transatlantic law firm.

Relevant work

  • Acting for the Respondent, a large East Asian manufacturer, in LCIA proceedings over the design, construction and functioning of a fuel plant. The claim was valued at EUR 60 million.
  • Acting for a client in Commercial Court proceedings seeking to recover US$54 million from the Syrian state, enforcing a US obtained judgment and advising on sanctions related issues.
  • Acting for a Middle Eastern client in successful ad-hoc arbitration proceedings regarding a US$ multi-million ship finance agreement in West Africa.
  • Acting for the Claimant, a company providing support services to oil and gas companies internationally, in Commercial Court litigation. The claim was in relation to breach of a SPA for non-payment of a tax indemnity in various jurisdictions.
