Osama Al Jayousi

Osama Al Jayousi is a Consultant in our Regulatory team. He is a compliance specialist with significant experience in risk management and governance, both in the construction services sector as an auditor, and as the Head of Compliance of a FTSE 100 company.

Osama advises corporate clients on an enhanced approach to risk and governance and is regularly invited to speak at industry conferences for professionals. 

He has an in-depth understanding of different cultures, and particular risk implications, through broad international compliance experience in Europe, North America, Africa and the Middle East.

Osama holds a master's degree from the University of London in Corporate Governance and Business Ethics.

Relevant work

  • Advising a UK company in the construction sector on the implementation and development of compliance procedures and internal controls in connection with an independent review under a Deferred Prosecution Agreement.
  • He has provided extensive financial crime and compliance advice to large multinationals. This has included supporting the implementation of third party risk management systems and providing advice on controls around modern slavery. 
  • While Head of Compliance of a major FTSE 100 multinational corporation in the construction sector, he had responsibility for compliance with anti-bribery/corruption, modern slavery, data protection laws and business continuity planning across the UK, MENA, the US, UK and China. The role also involved:
    • leading investigation teams into allegations around financial crime (eg accounting fraud) into companies subject to liquidation
    • identifying and evaluating the global compliance risk and organising, coordinating and structuring compliance related controls in those fields (such as the training programme, internal policies, procedures and guidelines), and bringing together cross functional teams in the business to support and monitor initiatives
    • performing due diligence checks and reporting on compliance aspects of key business decisions on new clients and joint venture partners, both on a domestic and international level
    • remodelling and staffing an Ethics and Compliance function to address changing compliance requirements and best practice.
  • Advising a high-profile company with head-quarters in the Middle-East and operations in Egypt on compliance projects and the development of an ACAP for EBRD.
