RPC named Best Legal Adviser for eighth straight year

Published on 29 November 2016

City-headquartered law firm RPC has been named a Best Legal Adviser by industry publication Legal Week, following research of almost 800 buyers of legal services.

The research – which collected feedback on over 250 law firms – asks clients to rate their legal advisers across a range of measures, from quality of legal advice to commerciality, service delivery to value for money. RPC outperformed the market average on every measure in the survey, receiving its highest scores for:

  • Commerciality
  • Quality of service delivery
  • Quality of legal advice
  • Partner-level contact

This is the eighth time in a row that RPC has been accredited in this report, including coming first overall in both 2015 and 2013.

Head of the Insurance Group at RPC James Miller said: "It all comes back to listening. We invest a lot of time and effort in listening to our clients and making sure we adjust our service and approach based on what they're telling us. It's very pleasing when the results of that investment are reflected in the client experience.

"We also set a lot of stall in the value of building long-term relationships, and the way we do that is through careful recruitment and development of people with the right personality and the right style of service delivery to complement their technical excellence."

Tim Anderson – Head of the Commercial Group – said: "This recognition is testament to the hard work our lawyers put in every day to deliver remarkable client service. But we never rest on our laurels – the consistency of our achievement in this report shows that. We're incredibly self-critical, always looking to make marginal improvements to multiple areas of service delivery. When those marginal improvements are combined, the overall experience for clients is tangibly better.

"What we really like about the Best Legal Adviser report is that it's based on the third party feedback of our clients, giving a genuine and robust picture of how they think we measure up against what matters to them most."

In the survey, Legal Week asks the buyers of legal services to rate their advisers against the following criteria:

  • Quality of legal advice
  • Quality of service delivery
  • Commerciality and understanding of my business
  • Communication and responsiveness
  • Teamwork
  • Partner-level contact
  • Your overall relationship with the firm
  • Fee arrangements
  • Billing practice/transparency
  • Value for money
  • Value added services
  • Innovation

The research for Legal Week's Best Legal Adviser report runs from June to September, with the top 20 performing firms accredited with Best Legal Adviser status.
