RPC boosts market-leading transactional and regulatory insurance team with Partner hire

Key strategic hire adds further strength to the firm's expanding transactional and regulatory insurance team

International law firm RPC has hired Partner William Hogarth to join the firm's transactional and regulatory insurance team based out of London.  

William joins RPC from Clyde & Co, where he specialised in insurance sector commercial, regulatory, reinsurance and transactional matters. He arrives at RPC on 6 September 2021.

William has over 15 years' experience, having trained and qualified at Slaughter & May. He joined Clyde & Co in 2013. He is ranked as a Next Generation Partner by UK Legal 500 for Corporate and Regulatory Insurance and as Up and Coming by UK Chambers for non-contentious Insurance. 

He has a proven track record of advising on a full spectrum of commercial, regulatory and transactional work for major insurers, reinsurers, brokers, intermediaries and other insurance market participants in both the general and life insurance markets.  

He has significant experience of prudential and conduct regulation, complex reinsurance structures, legacy market transactions, M&A, product development, insurance distribution and capacity arrangements and Lloyd's of London-related matters, including third party reinsurance-to-close deals and consortium arrangements.

William is RPC's fifth new Partner hire since the beginning of the year.  Those recent new joiners are: 

• Connor Cahalane, who joined as a Corporate Partner from Latham & Watkins and Commercial Partner, 
• Tom Purton, who previously led the Commercial, IP and Technology department at Travers Smith; 
• Andrea Randall who joined as Hong Kong Employment Partner from boutique law firm Gall and 
• Lucy Dyson, joining as Insurance Partner from DAC Beachcroft.
