RPC continues its investment in its Tech Disputes offering to support the firm's rapid growth within the technology sector.

Armstrong is RPC's 20th new Partner in 2022; mix of lateral hires and internal promotions

International law firm RPC has hired Technology Disputes Partner Helen Armstrong to join the firm's award-winning Technology practice in London. Helen starts on 31 October 2022.

Helen has over 10 years' experience as a Technology Disputes lawyer and solicitor advocate, with a practice focusing on complex Technology and Outsourcing disputes. She advises both private and public sector clients on a wide range of technology-related disputes, with significant experience on the customer and supplier side.  Helen joins RPC from Bryan Cave Leighton Paisner.

The move reflects RPC's continued investment in its Technology offering to support the firm's rapid growth within the TMT sector.

RPC's Technology practice consecutively won TMT Team of the Year at the Legal Business Awards in 2020 and 2021. The Technology practice, which works closely with the firm's market-leading Media, IP and Commercial teams, provides a full technology offering of transactional, regulatory and disputes advice to major global technology players and high-profile clients across many sectors, including technology, media, retail and consumer, and financial services/insurance.

Commenting on Helen's arrival, RPC's Head of IP and Tech David Cran said: "Helen is an exciting new arrival driven by client need as we continue to grow our market-leading Technology practice. She brings vast experience in high profile Tech Disputes and can help our clients with their diverse technology needs.

"Helen's hire reflects our commitment to keep growing our presence in the TMT sector."

Adding to this, RPC Managing Partner James Miller said: "Helen is our 20th new Partner in 2022.  Her arrival, coupled with new Partners Terence Dickens, Nick Lauw, Arash Rajai, Reshma Raja, Mike Newham, Tania Williams, Shai Wade, Rathi Thiagamoorthy and Peter Kwon, reflects the firm's growth ambitions to support clients' commercial needs."

Commenting on her arrival at RPC, Helen said: "I am delighted to join RPC as it continues its exciting growth journey, particularly within its award-winning TMT practice. I was attracted to the firm's people-orientated culture and high-profile clients, including major global technology players. I can't wait to start working with this market-leading team who share my values of collaboration, collegiality and client-centric thinking."

Helen's arrival means the firm has welcomed 27 new Partners to its Commercial Group in just over two years across its UK, Hong Kong and Singapore offices, through a combination of strategic lateral hires and promotion of internal talent.

The hire comes shortly after the Commercial Group promoted Alex Vakil, Alex Wilson, Sarah Mountain, Charlotte Henschen and Ed Colville to the Partnership. RPC now has 127 Partners across the firm.
