RPC Elects Seven New Partners and Names Two Of Counsel

International law firm RPC has announced the promotion of seven Partners and two Of Counsel, effective May 1, 2023.

These promotions reflect the firm's ambition and commitment to investing in its market-leading practices and people to deliver high-quality legal expertise and service. Many of the new Partners are promoted in areas aligned to the firm's strategic priorities across a range of contentious and non-contentious practices.

The new Partners and their principal areas of practice are:

  • Josh Charalambous, a sports, disputes and commercial specialist, advising a range of clients on sports regulatory, commercial, IP, media and entertainment, and technology matters in London.
  • Mamata Dutta is part of the general liability and medical team in London working on product liability and complex injury claims and helping clients at all stages of health and safety investigations and prosecutions.
  • Tamsin Hyland (Bristol) leads the RPC policy wordings team, assisting insurer clients in the development of their insurance products and providing real-time support to underwriters. Tamsin is also a specialist professional negligence litigator.  
  • Oliver Knox of the London professional and financial risks insurance litigation team, specialising in complex coverage disputes and defending claims against financial institutions and directors.
  • Joe Lippitt (London) practices in commercial contracts and regulatory advisory with a focus on digital and data. He works with some of the world's biggest tech companies and has advised on a range of issues including privacy compliance for social media companies, NFTs and crypto.
  • Emily McGregor (London) is a corporate lawyer specialising in transactional liability/warranty and indemnity insurance, with additional expertise in a range of corporate advisory matters including corporate governance and complex restructurings.
  • Yi-Shun Teoh of the Hong Kong commercial disputes team, specialises in complex international arbitrations, commercial litigation and regulatory investigations and enforcement.

Those who have been promoted to Of Counsel are:

  • London-based Oliver Bulleid, specialising in construction, professional liability and insurance matters.
  • Suzan Kurdi (London), a solicitor advocate and dispute resolution specialist with a particular focus on complex commercial disputes, fraud and bribery claims in both the litigation and arbitration context.

In the past 12 months RPC has hired nine Partners across its four offices, taking its international partnership to 132.
